Both coming from strong musical backgrounds. Park Jang-geun and Mikey decided to team up and create music together.

Park had originally been a member of Super Star, while Mikey debuted under the trio Oneway in 2010. Unfortunately, both acts failed to garner much attention. Or at least not as much in comparison to what Double Kick has been able to do in such a short period of time.

Striving to create not just music, but music that's designed for each artist in question specifically, Double Kick started off by creating a song for one artist here and one artist there. All of these artists had one thing in common: their newly composed Double Kick song became a hit. Before they knew it, some of the top singers and entertainment agencies were seeking out this duo, looking for the next big hit.

In 2012, they announced that not only had their team expanded to include many more members in the composition team, but also that they had set up their own label to produce not only music, but musical acts.

Just to list a few of the artists that these hit composers have worked with: MBLAQ, Kim Tae-woo, Leessang, Baek Ji-young, Davichi, NS YoonG, Miryo, etc.

The duo won the Melon Music Award for Best Songwriter in 2012.
