After winning the "Participation Award" at the 1985 6th annual Gangbyeon Song Festival with the song "To Become A Dandelion Spore", Park Mi-kyung debuted onto the music scene. She soon even received an soundtrack break for the drama in 1986. She then went on to release her first album in 1988 with the title song "If It Rains On Tuesday".

However, in 1994, she teamed up with producer Kim Chang-hwan, to release her first "official" album if you will for her "official" debut. Her song, "An Unreasonable Reason", showcasing her clear vocals, cinched the #1 spot on KBS's Top 10 songs for four weeks in a row. Soon after, her song "Eve's Warning" off her 2nd album , stayed at #1 for five weeks in a row. Such feats clinched her status as the top female dance song singer of the 90's. Her dance for "Eve's Warning" became so widespread, that it's safe to say every man and woman from that generation has tried to imitate it at least once.

She continued to release hits like "Obsession" and "Punishment", going on to later wed American Troy Armado.

She saw a breath of new life into her career thanks to the show "I'm A Singer 2" in 2012.
